2. FES 310™ – Back Pads and Leg Pads – Lesson/Quiz

Note: The following content corresponds with pages 12-13 and 16-25 of the manual.

The system includes two types of pads: a Back Pad and a Leg Pad. Contact Equinew if you require custom pads.

Back Pads Covered with durable Cordura nylon and have a removable nylon liner. You get two liners that can be easily swapped between horses, and they can be washed, disinfected, and will dry quickly. To smooth out wrinkles, use the adjustment tabs on the pad. The electrodes attach to Velcro strips inside the pad, and Velcro circles to hold them in place.

The wires are color-coded to match specific spots on the pad. When placing the electrodes, follow this color order: BLACK, BROWN, WHITE, GREEN, BLUE, RED. For Channel A, use RED and BLACK; for Channel B, use BLUE and BROWN; for Channel C, use GREEN and WHITE. Keep the electrodes as far apart as possible, but move them closer for smaller animals. Remember to remove the electrodes and wires before washing the pad.

Leg Pads Constructed similarly to the back pad, including the removable nylon liner, electrode harness, and round Velcro pieces.
The Electrodes are positioned similarly for both the leg and back pad.

The short practice knowledge quiz that follows is based on the information provided here and in your manual. This quiz is timed but not graded. Each question must be answered before advancing to the next question.

Note: Some of the questions in this quiz will also be included on the final Exam at the end of the course.
